Snow Queen in Haiti!

Thank you everyone for all of your support! I returned from my medical mission trip on Saturday. It was amazing; we saw over 900 patients and I was able to meet some really wonderful people. One of my favorite parts, however, was being able to bring the Snow Queen to the Bousol Timoun orphanage! I had met these children when I went to Haiti in the summer, so it was so great to see how much they’ve all grown!

I snuck out at the end of church, and reappeared as none other than everybody’s favorite Snow Queen! The kids were speechless, and all wanted to touch my hair and dress. I sang “Let it Go” for them and their wonderful staff, and then they asked if we could sing it again! Took lots of pictures  with all of them and was able to talk to them through Hadassa, a very bright 11-year old who translated for me. Here are a few of the pictures.

Me with the kids of Bousol Timoun! It was hard getting them all to look at the camera, they were more interested in my dress.

You can’t see here, but there were five or six little ones around me that were trying to wrap the bottom of my dress around themselves, asking to be picked up, and making silly faces!

This is little Fidniel. I had the pleasure of meeting her in the summer when she was 4-months old, having just arrived at the orphanage. She was tiny! Now she is a year old, starting to walk, and so, so sweet! And we even matched :)

And here is my special little friend, Erline. When I was working there over the summer, she was always on my hip. She was excited to see me again, though the fact that everyone was now calling me Elsa confused her a little. So glad I got to hold her and see her beautiful face again!

Thank you everyone for your continued support. I will absolutely be continuing parties! Money will still all be donated, though slightly differently. Much will be going towards patient needs, which is a fund for patients we see in clinics that we do not have the resources to treat, such as a women we met who was 8-months pregnant and could not safely deliver the baby. This fund helps get people like her the medical care they need. Some money will be put into a savings account for when I decide where I am going next. I absolutely love Haiti, and could definitely see myself continuing there, but I have also begun talking to a clinic in Malawi about partnering with them to conduct some research. Finally, some will be put towards a computer for college, as I plan on studying and researching Neuroscience and Epidemiology at the University of Rochester. All party money does, and always will, support my missionary work overseas.

Thank you again to all of my supporters!
Nicole

P.S Stay Tuned- I have some exciting Cinderella news pending that I can’t wait to share with you all!

New Addition!

Hello Everybody!

In light of the new Cinderella movie coming out, there is a new addition to the Snow Queen business!
As of April, 2015, Cinderella will also be available for bookings! And yes, the Snow Queen will still be around for those of you not quite over Frozen Fever. :)

It’s been a busy month! I’ve had lots of parties, an event at Applewild School, and am less than 10 days away from my trip to Haiti! I’ll be bringing the Snow Queen to the children at the orphanage, in between running medical clinics in some of the underserved areas of Port-au-Prince.

Thank you so much to all who have supported me through donations and bookings! I have begun talking with an organization in Malawi, and will hopefully be helping them start a medical clinic next summer! Donations from parties will now be going toward my funds to make this a possibility.

Look for pictures when I return of the Snow Queen meeting the children of Haiti! I think it’ll be a wonderful way to combine this fundraising adventure with the reason it all began!

With Love,
Nicole

Getting Publicity!

http://harvard.wickedlocal.com/article/20150126/NEWS/150127248/0/SEARCH

In anticipation of the Applewild event, there have been some press releases advertising the event, which means more publicity for me! It’s all very exciting and fun to see how big this is becoming, I only imagined getting a few parties, and now I have 4 events next weekend alone! The link to an article is above, if you care to check it out.

PS- I hope everyone enjoyed the snow day! Though I don’t think it’s a coincidence that the Snow Queen’s city (Worcester) got 34” and two snow days! :)

Update!

Hello!

I thought it might be a good idea to let you all know how the Snow Queen jobs/ fundraising is going. I have almost reached the $2000 cost of my medical mission trip, and have parties lined up so I should be able to hit the goal! I have been having LOTS of Snow Queen parties, normally 1-2 every weekend, and still filling up! This has been such a wonderful opportunity to raise money to help the people of Haiti, and also spread some Snow Queen love to the kids around here! Any money raised past the amount can be used to purchase medicines, supplies, and pay for hospital visits for people with conditions the clinic cannot treat. Please don’t hesitate to email me if you want to book a party or find out more!

I am doing a tea party at Applewild school (where I attended middle school) on February 7th, you can find more information by contacting them. I am so excited to get to do the event with my old school, it is truly a wonderful place.

Finally, I have found out that I will be staying in and around the capital city, Port-au-Prince, when I head back to Haiti. This means that I will be safer than if we were traveling extensively, and may even have access to indoor plumbing (yay!).

Thanks to all who have supported me and continue to support this cause, it means so much to me.
